Nowadays, we are constantly bombarded with expensive marketing from the cosmetics industry, which exists solely to create a high-end, glossy, and extremely desirable image for itself, those well-known brands. This activity directly influences us as we don’t have “informed” knowledge about why our skin ages. The advertising cleverly diverts our attention, thus preventing us from obtaining skin care regimes that really work and have scientific backing as proof of their effectiveness.
It doesn’t matter what they all claim, products bought over-the-counter have no actual biological effects on the skin. The reason is simple: they do not have adequate levels of the active ingredients that prevent and repair the signs of aging and skin damage. If they did, they would be classified as medical products. What that means to the rest of us is that, these products, although often, luxurious, gorgeously packaged and highly expensive, will not stop our skin from aging.
Most people enjoy plump, healthy skin with few fine lines, except for inherited features like dimples or laugh lines. Our mantra, “Cleanse, Hydrate, Protect” is key for this age group.
Fine lines begin to appear around the mouth and eyes. Most people are beyond acne at this age, but hormonal changes and stress can trigger an episode. Age prevention skincare is more important than ever at this stage
In the early stages, most people have fewer oils in their skin and less elasticity so new, shallow wrinkles around the eyes can be seen and this area begins to lose tone. Wrinkles visibly deepen during this decade and pigmentation problems will surface due to hormonal changes and sun exposure. Exfoliation and hydration are key to manage these effects.
Wrinkles are now apparent around the eyes and mouth and the skin on the face, neck and chin begin to sag. The skin loses its plumpness and tone. As the decade progresses, wrinkles deepen, sagging increases and irregular pigmentation increases where the skin becomes drier. Particular attention is needed around the eyes as the skin loses tone. Lesions may even start to appear. Anti-oxidants, collagen and elastin enhancers and nutrients are essential now.
At the start, nose-to-mouth folds deepen dramatically and sagging in the neck becomes more pronounced. New wrinkles appear everywhere. Repetitive facial movements have caused deep wrinkles on the forehead and above the mouth. Dryness results from a huge drop in oil production. Skin is in the advanced aging stage and intense rejuvenation treatments are required.
These stages are graded 0 to 5 in order to prescribe the best possible skincare package for you.
As the eyes start to show visible signs of aging, these are often a higher grade than the rest of the face and so are treated separately. There are also other issues to consider: Redness & Sensitivity, and Rosacea, and vital to all ages of course is Sun Protection and Safe tanning.
At Rejuvenise, our specialists assess the condition of your skin and advise you on the best course of treatment available to rejuvenate your skin. Please note - our advisors are in high demand so please allow sufficient time for your reply. We endeavour to respond within 1 working day.
