Chemical peels - A solution is applied to the skin, removing blemishes and wrinkles. A light, superficial peel will remove debris from the skin and leave it glowing, whereas the medium depth peel penetrates further into the skin to reduce small wrinkles and acne scars, and to even out skin colour and tone. The deep peel, which can only be administered by a qualified doctor, penetrates the lower dermal layer of the skin to remove or lessen deeper wrinkles, lines and scars.

Frown lines, crows feet and forehead lines

Other Treatments on the High Street:

Laser, IPL

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment uses an intense burst of red or blue light shone on to the skin to improve tone and texture and even out pigmentation. Pure, non-laser, narrow-beam red light stimulates the body's own natural processes to form new collagen and elastin. It makes skin firmer and smoother, reducing lines and wrinkles. It can be used on the face, neck and chest as well as other areas which have been exposed to sun, such as the hands.

Skin that has already been heavily damaged by over-exposure to sun won't benefit from this treatment, which is most helpful to skins showing early signs of lines and wrinkles.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a mini procedure that involves the skin being "sandblasted" by aluminum oxide crystals to remove the top layer of the skin and dead skin cells. It will promote the production of new cells in the deepest layer of the dermis. It can clean your pores and hinder any future breaks outs if used on a regular basis.

If you have or have had acne, discolorations, superficial lines and wrinkles, uneven texture or sun damaged skin -- you may be a suitable candidate for this type of treatment.

Sclerotherapy

Is used in the treatment of unsightly facial or leg veins, broken capillaries, spider naevi (spider veins), port wine stains, Campbell de Morgan spots and other telanjectasia. These can all be treated painlessly and in some cases only take a few minutes. People of any ethnic origin and skin type including tanned skin can be treated successfully with this therapy, where a very fine needle injects a solution into the vein to “collapse” it. Treatments may take between 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. Most patients see excellent improvement after just two treatments.
